About The Maker
Welcome to Wool & Hide.
Wool & Hide was born from a lifelong appreciation for traditional craftsmanship and a simple belief: the things we use every day should be made with care, built to last, and tell a story.
Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I was surrounded by the art of handcrafted boot making. My father began working at White's Boots in Spokane when he was just 17 years old, handcrafting boots for loggers, smokejumpers, and farmers. I later spent my first year after high school working there as well. The smell of leather still reminds me of my childhood and the pride that comes from creating something by hand.
Over the years, I raised a large family, tended a market garden, and embraced a life rooted in stewardship, creativity, and intentional living. Today, I also teach high school English and Literature at a Christian school, where I encourage creativity, patience, and lifelong learning.
Those same values are woven into every pair of handcrafted moccasins, every felted creation, and every workshop I offer. My hope is that each piece brings warmth, comfort, and a deeper appreciation for the beauty of handmade craftsmanship.
Thank you for supporting traditional skills, small businesses, and the timeless value of things made by hand.

Our Mission
At Wool & Hide, every stitch tells a story. Not just the story of handcrafted leather, natural wool, or timeless craftsmanship, but a story of hope.
Our mission is to continue building Kristie's Place, a peaceful community of tiny homes where women and children escaping crisis can find a safe place to begin again. A place where fear is replaced with peace, brokenness is met with compassion, and every woman is reminded she is seen, deeply loved, and capable of building a beautiful future.
As this vision grows, Kristie's Place will offer more than shelter. It will become a community where women can learn practical life skills, discover new talents, grow food, create with their hands, and gain the confidence to stand on their own once again.
When you choose a pair of moccasins, a handcrafted gift, or a felted woodland friend, you're doing more than supporting a small business. ♡
