Both are cowhides, but the darker brown leather was vegetable-tanned (notice the crinkly look to the surface, and how the color does not go clean through the leather. The lighter golden leather was oil-tanned (notice the patina and how the color goes through to the other side). These hand-crafted moccasins were stitched by hand with a strong waxed thread. The heel, or back area, has a unique lace-up design for more precise size adjustment. With golden laces up the front ending in a sweet bow, these are a special pair of boots! The wide toe-box and soft sole are in keeping with the “barefoot” design for healthy feet. Every pair is individually hand-crafted in a unique leather and style combination; though some may appear similar, you might never find two pairs exactly the same.
